Your Migration Journey

We have laid out an end-to-end process that covers your infrastructure migration in a simple and streamlined way. With our automation tools, the process of cloud-migrations is reduced from weeks to hours and without learning any new scripting languages or complicated manual steps. Below are the key steps of the migration process.

Steps:

• You will get a private instance of our solution called VPC+
• You sign up and link your existing cloud account
• Using your cloud account and firewall configuration files, we will discover your existing IBM Cloud classic environment
• Our solution takes inventory of your subnets, firewalls, security policies, load-balancers, VMs, VPNs, etc. from your current environment and translates it to a matching VPC environment template
• The solution creates a workspace for you where you can edit, customize, and verify the various network functions, virtual servers instances, and volumes, etc. according to your requirements
• Once done with editing, you simply hit ‘Provision’ and let VPC+ deploy your VPC infrastructure
• You can manage your VPCs on our solution to later add, delete or edit any section of your VPC

Get Started

To get started with VPC+, visit https://vpc.wanclouds.net (or your private instance), register a new account, and login using that account.

Once logged in, you will need to add your IBM Cloud account to discover your existing classic environment. You can also add a VRA (Vyatta 5600) configuration file if you want to discover your Access Control Lists, VPN gateways, and public gateways in addition to the other components of your environment.

The following three steps happen during the discovery:

• Taking inventory of your current IBM Cloud classic infrastructure
• Translating it to the VPC infrastructure
• Creating a workspace based on the VPC infrastructure that you can edit according to your requirements

After the discovery process completes, you can make edits to any component of your VPC like subnets, load balancers, IKE and IPSec policies, etc. You can also add VSIs under Instances and migrate primary or secondary boot volumes of your existing VSIs.

You can also migrate selected components of your environment or choose to migrate it all in multiple time intervals.

VPC+ gives you an intuitive editing panel to help you customize your VPC before provisioning it.

Once you are done editing the workspace according to your needs, you click Continue and then Provision to provision your VPC infrastructure on IBM Cloud VPC.
